Full Time Python + Data Science Bootcamp

Coding Temple’s 10 Week Full Stack Development Course provides a thorough primer on all of the tools and technologies required to envision, design, build, test, and deploy completely functional web applications.

The Python language is rapidly growing in popularity, being employed in web applications like YouTube, Reddit, DropBox, Survey Monkey, and Quora. Paired with the Django framework, it’s reliable, powerful, and fun to learn technology. 

While on campus, the average day will consist of homework review, classroom discussions, lectures, technical quizzes, and programming exercises. Some of the concepts discussed include HTTP, Databases, Libraries, Frameworks, DRY Code, Pair Programming, and Design Patterns.

At the conclusion of the course, participants will gain the knowledge required to consider themselves full stack software developers.

There is no certificate of completion for participation in this course, and no formal gradebook is maintained by the instructor. Throughout the course, participants will create several different applications which will be gathered into their portfolio, including one capstone assignment that encompasses all of the material covered throughout the course. A student that successfully completes the course will have several of these portfolio items to demonstrate their mastery of the topics covered during the course.

Participants are expected to complete approximately 60 hours of work prior to the first in-class session. This pre-work consists of several videos as well as practice problems.  We recommend that participants budget approximately 20 hours per week for three weeks prior to the beginning of the course to complete this work.

To be successful at Coding Temple, you don’t have to have any prior history with coding. No matter the experience level of an applicant, we are looking for students who are excited to learn new things and ready to blaze a new trail for themselves.

Coding Temple offers full-time, ten-week courses in .Net and Python. Additionally, we offer a part-time JavaScript course, which meets in the evenings for students who want to maintain their current job while learning to code. To stay informed, Coding Temple frequently adds shorter workshops on new technologies such as Angular 2, Android Development, etc., which range in duration from an hour, a full day, or even two weeks. These add-on classes are free to current Coding Temple students and alumni, as we are passionate about supporting our developers throughout their careers.

In building Coding Temple, we’ve found that devoting time to coding fundamentals consistently and early in the learning process has a strong impact on a student’s ability to grasp material down the road, which is why the pre-work is so integral to the program. The tutorials and exercises assigned provide a strong foundation to build on once we all get in the classroom together.

We’ve noticed that some bootcamps assign a huge amount of pre-work as substitute for material that is classroom-worthy. We believe this approach to teaching hurts a student in the long run. Complex subjects such as ASP.NET MVC and AngularJS require time spent in the classroom and the guidance of our instructors to help most students gain a full understanding.

Our class is a hybrid of lecture and hands-on coding. In class, you will be lectured on new technologies and review fundamentals. You’ll then apply these concepts yourself by writing code, while the instructors are close by to provide guidance.

Some days, you’ll work by yourself on a project. But often you will be pair programming, an industry software development technique that helps you assimilate knowledge faster and come up with new ideas by working as a team.

Fridays are less structured, with open office hours for students to work independently on projects, revisit concepts with our instructors, or study technologies outside of our standard curriculum.

At Coding Temple, students receive job preparation throughout the course. Instructors will challenge you with quizzes, assignments, exams, and projects that simulate a work environment and can be added onto your resume and portfolio. During the final week of the course, students are given resume guidance, mock interviews, technical exams, and whiteboard challenges to help prepare. Coding Temple and our partners, which include Robert Half, TEKsystems, and other leading tech recruitment firms, work with students until they get the job of their choice. We have placed students as young as 18 years old into developer jobs.

Coding Temple requires students to attend class. Our policy is designed to give students the best preparation for becoming successful developers at the end of the course. Given how much our curriculum covers every day, students are not allowed to miss more than 3 classes. If students anticipate being absent, they should let the instructor know ahead of time.

Currently, Coding Temple is offering a scholarship through one of its preferred partners, Course Report. Course Report will allow you to submit an essay which can qualify you for a $500 scholarship.
